Research shows over 90% of existing “graphene” is actually nanographite and can range anywhere from 10-3000 layers of carbon. Graphene was defined by the International Standards Organization in 2017 to be between 1 and 10 layers of carbon. Found alongside common low quality “graphene” are chemical contaminants and poor quality control. The industry’s lack of oversight and understanding has led to the purchasing of material that isn’t real graphene and lacks the properties that true graphene has.
